The new data library at the National Computational Infrastructure (NCI) allows researchers to access data collections and model products from a variety of local and international climate and weather repositories, including Bureau of Meteorology data such as forecasts and analyses. NCI is a major node of the Earth System Grid Federation.
The CWSLab provides tools for searching and accessing data, and an integrated set of data analysis and visualisation tools for climate analysis.
Data at NCI are available through three major interfaces:
- The NCI node of the Earth Systems Grid Federation (ESGF) provides access to the internationally federated CMIP5 data. Access to the data collections requires OpenID credentials. Registration is an immediate process.
- The NCI data library provides access to data holdings including the CMIP5 data.
- The NCI Lustre file system has access to local and Earth Systems Grid Federation data that have been downloaded to NCI. Access requires an NCI account that has been enabled for the relevant data areas.
